Thanks to all who helped me figure out what year this was...

I picked it up for $500.00

Its a 1984 Yamaha 225DX. It was an original owner, purchased in late 1983. It still has the optional "tri moto" trike cover!

The plastic is in great shape, not a single crack...plus every single decal is there. The seat is near perfect. This shows what a little cover can do to protect from the elements. This machine was NOT garage kept, just under the cover after every ride!

The rear bearings are not so good, but other than that, its a great machine. There are no oil leaks, and the engine looks brand new!

Is it just me, or do those look like argo tires? Stock was 22x11x8 all around, but it has 21x11x8 dune/swamp tires on the back.

I could not be happier. I used to have a 225DX as a kid, and I loved it. Now I have one that is in even better shape!

Take care and enjoy the pics,

Hey, nice 225DX. I have a blue 85 225DX and I also bought mine from the origianl owner and I also need to do the rear bearings. I have the bearings and the manual now I just need the time to change em'.

You got a real nice price on that too, congrats on the new machine.

I have had a few of those none even close to that shape though. They are easy to wheelie and a fun bike. I had one out to the dunes and it surprised the daylights out of me it went a lot more places then I thought it would go. Nice bike.
