I have recently bought a an NOS 1986-87 ATC200X rear fender. the part number on the box says 80100-HB5-670ZA but there is a stamp underneath the fender . It says part number 80100-HB5-0000 ,WHY? Also the rear fender seems to have a pearl white color compared the the OEM front fender for this model it is more white, a very small difference but noticeable . Did the 87 have a small change in color compared to the 86 ATC200X? This fender was in the original box and always in a climate controlled enviroment unopened till now. The box was perfect and never got wet or anything, ,,can anyone enlighten me on this?

Weird. 80100-HB5-670ZA is the '87 fender part number, 80100-HB5-000ZA (close to yours) is the '86. Was it maybe reboxed at some point by a dealer?

very strange, was the 1987 200x rear fender a shade darker than the 86? I thought they where both SHASTA WHITE. If you zoom in you can see the last four digits-0000 ,that is weird.

Honda were never any good at getting the color right on the second run of plastics.......i have quite a few NOS 250R fenders and there all a different color.......85R fenders were like a blood red the 86R fenders were slightly darker and the later fenders (sticker warning decal) were more of a darker color again.....so depends when it was molded and what color they had in the machine.......you won't really notice it when there on the bike.....oh and for get the 000 and 670 on the part number that just means they didn't get a toolmaker to change it (very expensive)before they molded for 87

Thanks for the info guys, I just talked to mike from vintagemotorsports and he said the same thing, The 80100-HB5-0000 was a superseded 86 part number which was correct for the 87 production year. I never knew Honda would have other different shades of color due to a different plastic supplier.

Every 87 200X part I get, ends in 670. The 000 is always 86..............

Actually 670ZA is the original part number for the 86 and 87, the 0000 is a superceded number and the latest fender reproduced which would have been correct for the 1987 production year, 0000 and 000ZA is a different plastic supplier.

Nope like DC said 000 is always 86 (first year of a new model) and 670 is 87 (second year...770 third year etc)this works on all honda models post 83 the ZA refereces to the color of the plastic and only used on plastic parts.....

Ya, DC was right I looked up that number on Honda's network, all that is , is a superseded 86 part number 0000 wich would have been correct for the 87 model production year but both 670ZA & 0000 say shasta white, they sometimes use different suppliers to mold and that's why some fenders have different shades of color.
