Doing an inspection to try to clear up an irradic idle problem I noticed my carb isolator was cracked in the middle plastic rubbery type stuff. Both sides, behind the end of the carb studs. One crack is tiny and the other one is noticably bigger. Is this a common problem? Is there a quick easy fix? I was thinking of trying some JB Weld (here we go:crazy:), but maybe it would be too rigid and not flex. Maybe some good silicone? This is dampening my ice fishing, Although I can still run it. Need some advice. Thanks.....Matt

You can use plasti-dip to coat it and seal the leak.

I just got done putting some blue rtv on it. Probably gonna buy a new one. Might be a temp fix till I get a new one. I actually thought of the plastic dip, but I am out of it. I used it to seal up some stuff on my r/c trucks right before winter.

I use Seal-All. It is made by the company that makes Shoe Goo. It is resistant to gas and oil and is easy to use like silcone sealer:

Seal-AllŪ —Gas & Oil-Resistant Adhesive (http://www.eclecticproducts.com/sealall.htm)

I bought mine at Walmart in the Automotive section, but it can be found in most hardware stores.

Seal All or Plasti Dip sound like good solutions... I would pass on the JB weld, due to the non flexible nature of it...

Yep, 83 200. Bike Bandit has #224751 for $33.87. Gonna see what I can get if for locally. Put it back together with the blue rtv on and whent for a rip around the lake and ran fine. Didn't seem to idle high after a long run as much as before. Will definately get a new one.

those seem awful notorious for breakage. I had one break on my 200. I ended up making one with some Al plate and tube. I used a phenolic spacer for an insulator. That could be worth a try if you have aluminum and can TIG weld.
