hey guys I might be getting a 1983 or 84 Honda ATC 200 for 200 bones it runs and rides. It has electric start and recoil start. it does not have reverse. what is it? is it a 200m? 200s? or 200e?
thanks

If it has High/low range it should be a 200e. If not sounds like a 200m.

possibly a 200S with options. If all gears are up, it is an S

I agree with whiteman. Out of those 3, the 200s is the only one without electic start, so it is most likely a Big Red or 200m. Get the VIN off the neck and and go to http://atcvin.webs.com

With electric and recoil start, sounds like a E. Definitely an E if it has the "Hi Lo" gear shifter beside the recoil start. Like others said above...go to the VIN verification link.

Not necessarily, The 85 200m has gears up, same as mine,

Its not a 200s unless it has a aftermarket starter. Most likely a 200m. 200m has no reverse or hi/low gears but does have electric start. 200e has hi/low and reverse if I am not mistaken.

also if it has front and rear racks it is most likey and E I have an 85 200m the biggest tell tale is the high low range selector. Electric start was only on the M and E models. The M had electric start but no racks or hitch from the factory. The M and Ehad bigger tires and wheels than the S model and if i am not mistaken is overall just a big larger then the S. S models are sought after for the fact they seem to be the fastest of the no rear suspension models. All good bikes all had a recoil start. if it does have a front rack another easy way to tell is the mounts for the front rack on the E model were built into the forks the front rack for an M has brackets to mount it.

this trike has a rear rack and a hitch I think and no suspension.

No suspension at all?? Then it is older than an 83, and it's none of the trikes discussed in this thread.
