hey guys, just wanted to show you the 1983 250R i just bought. it needs a lot of work now that i got it home and looked it over better, but at least i finally have one. i shouldn't have paid 600.00 for it, but that' s my fault. that'll teach me. one bad thing about it is that it has a 1982 250Rmotor in it. it does run, but i want it right. the frame was notched out for the gear shift lever so i'll need a new frame for starters. also, if anybody would want to trade a decent '82 motor for a '83 motor(running or not, i can rebuild it) that would save me a little money. one thing about it is, when i get done with it, it's going to be like brand new. you guys know alot more about the 250R than i do, so i will probably be asking alot of questions. this is just one more trike that won't end up in the scrapyard.

not bad!! I would just keep it the way it is. You might be better off being patient, and you could score a sweet correct 83-84 for 800-1200! If you try to restore that you will be in for alot more than that!! Imho!! fix what needs fixin and run it!! then youll have 2!!
dig the old school answer bar pad!!

The only "internal" difference between the 82 and 83 motor is he gear shift shaft. You don't need a new motor, you just need to switch the shaft.
Then I would just weld shut the hole in the frame and have fun with it.
