I've seen many people with the 200x forks on the front of thier 250sx's, who have testified to having a great improvement. Do the 200x forks have better suspension travel or does having the narrower front tire help with handling? What are the benifits of this swap?

My 250sx mainly sees beach and bog, so I need to have good flotation over soft sand and mud. I know the narrower front tire won't help me there, I'd like to stay wide.

I ask becuase I just got a 200x frame with all suspension on it(just surface rust on the frame, the suspension is beautiful), and I have already been offered some cash for it. I also have a lead on a complete 200x engine.

Do I;

A:Swap the 200x front on my 250sx

B:Sell the 200x stuff now, and leave my 250sx as is

C:Built the 200x and keep it

build them both up so you have 2 running atc's

Actually I would have four running ATCs then :-D

Though there isn't much too compare when my 250sx is next to my 125m's :rolleyes:

Hmm, that 200x front has a disk brake in it also.

for some reason me, roger86200x, I agree with 86 200x...hmm I wonder why? lol the 86/87 200'x are the BEST! they are way better than the 83-85 200x's, and I wouldnt even trade my 86 200x for a 86 250r or a 86 350x!!!

You can merely use the 200X front forks with the 250 SX triples and tire - but no front brake. Never bothered me much. Yes the 200X are a much better front suspension - longer travel and another bushing on the lower end to help support the tube thoughout it's travel. The SX forks have one dinky bushing on top and thats it - no other support at all. And if you get a complete 200X front end you can enjoy the stylish look and positive feel of a disc brake setup and a much better looking front fender - 200X. Ive done all these conversions so ask away!

I would keep the 200X frame, get the engine, and then you would have a project for yourself.
