200m Elc help

Does any one know what would cause my neutral light to stay on all the time ? It just started doing this with in the last few days , also how does the thing know when it is in neutral? Thanks guys:wondering

Page 123-132 in the repair manual shows a neutral safety switch and wire (the one running out of the recoil).... That would be a good place to start, pull the left crankcase, and the switch is connected to that wire, its located next to the indicator shaft inside the crankcase.....
