picked up a zinger over the weekend. Dont stone me, but its a 4-zinger!! Anyway, looks to be in good shape, starts pretty easy, but sounds pretty rough. Only ran it for a min or so, sounded funny for sure, like a (clinking sound in the cylinder?) I am clueless with these, How can i be sure its getting oil. The oil tank is full. I will post a few pics tonight when i get home. It prob needs a rebuild, but how can i tell. I am not sure if i am going to keep this or not. I didnt really want another project. I bought this for him to ride while im getting the 70 done.

If I found a decent 4-zinger for a good price I would snatch it up too..

If it's smoking, your getting oil! LOL It sounds crazy, but it's pretty much true. If you are suspect of it, just premix your oil into your gas, no big deal. If you have clinking or rattling around in your top end, you probably have worn ring and if you let it go on, it could affect your rod main bearing by getting so much piston slap. Get a compression reading on that cylinder and see what you have. It's pretty easy to slap a new set of rings in those by the way. A nice top end gasket set, new rings, decarbon the piston top and the exhaust port and make sure you have the "large hole" exhaust gasket and you'll be pretty happy with the results. You may want to make sure your exhaust isn't all carboned and oil smoke gummed up too, that will really kill performance on that little engine. I had a nice little DG nationals pipe on the old one I sold. It sounded pretty good and was much more free breathing than that nasty stock exhaust I had. They are a little goofy to bolt on, but it made a difference in performance. Best of luck.

You can also get a piston kit pretty cheap. I got a piston kit last year with rings and a a top end gasket set for under $60 shipped . Then less then $20 to rebore the cylinder. So I had less then $80 into it. well worth it.
