I am new and not very patient on working on things, so bear with me. I just bought a battery for my atc200 es and hooked it up and the electric start will not work. It worked fine earlier in the spring, but the battery went bad so i used the pull start. No broken wires that i see. Any help would be great.

one of the wire could be loose. go over all the wires and makes sure they are in working condtion, could aslso be a loose ground.or your starter could be froze up,give it a whack with a rubber malet

you are going to need to unplug and test wires with a voltmeter to get an accurate answer, does it work when you jump the solenoid?

Good advice so far but check the fuse also.

Fuses, solenoids, wires, grounds, starter, switch, relay, could be anything man. You've got to do a bit more digging.

Fuse under seat ok. Battery new and charged. Wires seem ok. How do i check switch and relay or jump solenoid. I have not found that yet.

Bypass the starter relay with a screwdriver, between the 2 big wires. .If it starts then change out the relay, if not then its the starter.

can also be a neutral sensor inside the motor so don't go splicing wires yet

Where is the starter relay located, and is it easy to get too i hope.

Not sure if this will help, but its from the manual and you can view the relay. Just ground out the 2 with the screw driver and see if it starts. If it does, the change out the relay (round looking deal with 2 wires connected to it.

Is there someplace online that i can print out a version of the repair manual like you have or did you have to purchase it?

Yeah you can go to Dammits site as he has most of the manuals hosted there. Good luck on the repair and keeps us informed.

Got the stubborn girl to start last night. Buddy hooked up juice to the starter and he said it turned over, so when I got home from work I tried the starter switch and still nothing. So me being the patient one, (NOT) I shook the crap out of the neutral/low/hi lever and it worked. Tried it several times to make sure, and so far so good. Next step some Kold Cutters and new brake cables to get ready to get on the ice. Thanks for everything, I am sure it wont be the last.
