hey guys my beloved first trike the 1980 yt125 is dead :( or at least it is for now. the othher day i fried the 30 year old piston and rings and now it just sits:( if anyone has a nos or new piston and rings they could sell me for a 1980 yt125 it would be greatly appreciated just pm me if you have one i could buy. and remember LONG LIVE THREE WHEELERS :)

You can still order new pistons and rings for that bike. Looks like they're backordered according to powersportspro.com and they would run you about $175 though. Have you disassembled it to see how bad it is?

You don't have to buy OEM parts your can pick up cheap Wiseco pistons from this website and just have your cylinder board up to the next size and get the right size piston for the newly board cylinder.

Maybe, you would like to buy some magic beans then? LOL Seriously, try looking on ebay. You can often get deals on NOS parts. I've seen pistons and rings on there pretty cheap before, and I'm talking genuine Yamaha. You may have to shop around and buy the piston and rings seperately as that is how they were originally listed, but if you can be a little patient, you can often find a deal. Best of luck with your shopping.

yea i found a piston and rings for 70 but dont i alo need the head gasket and the gasket between the cylinder and the block???

if you tore them up, yes. My rings for my KLT200 engine are 50 bux, and thats all i have so im gonna make my own gaskets outta gasket material...

I don't recommend at all reusing the head gasket.
