I was given a 125 tri moto but previous owner had no info on it. I am trying to find model # so I can get a manual. I can only find the numbers 5v3-00391163 on the steering shaft. I know it was made between 1980 and 1985. any help is very very much appreciated. thanks

Are you sure it isn't 5v6-00391163? (1982). There should be a matching number on the engine also.

I had just bought a Yamaha, we have no idea the year nor the model.. I have been able to locate 20E-012255 on the neck and cannot seem to find a VIN decoder as it is not a 17 digit. Well I might have one for you
I acquired a I think 1983 big red 250? electric start and low range. All sites say 1983 unknown. This is the triplechecked frame VIN # [JHSTB061 (OR I)XDC323150] . The number and the machine are in pretty good shape other than rotten tires. been sitting for about 15 years. soaked with seafoam fresh gas and three pulls. Start circuit dead and sprocket looks like a saw blade. would appreciate any help to resurect this guy from the dead

Pull start, no battery, chain drive, no rear suspension.

I need to find out what model I have?
And what engine?

By searching I have found the 10th letter is the year which would make it a 85. The 21V means chain drive.

Where on the engine would I find the engine code?

Hello all, I am new to the forum and recently just purchased a yahama tri Moto 200. I'm trying to figure out the year so I can order some parts. I have it tore apart down to the frame, minus the engine. I left it alone since it runs great. I do however need new clutch cable, brake cable and some other small stuff.
If someone could direct me in the right direction to find out what year it is and a place for cheap/any parts, it would be greatly appreciated. I tried the link on this forum and it said the page cannot be found. The vin number on the frame and motor match. It is 21v-021370.

That actually is the vin they used nine digits back in the day before 16 were standard you can call Yamaha atv customer support to verify the year and everything with that number

I tried to go to the one for Yahmaha, but it said site wasn't found. 21V-000153. This is the number stamped on the frame and the motor. Done several searches. But it doesn't bring up anything specific. It shows 2 or 3 different types.

Can someone help me figure out my yamaha tri-moto. I bought it as a bigred but found out it was really a yamaha trimoto.vin#24w-007375. There was no plastic from a trimoto. I a paraplegic so i didn't look it over enough. . It had a plastic black tank,a 250r seat and some . busted up plastic from a big red but I was only seeing the front suspension chrome looking triple trees i thought was from a honda 200e. .y vines 24w-007375 incase my words above disappeared.
