Ive had my Tecate for many years. originally I thought they just had bad stators. But come to find out at leats mine and a few on ebay seem to break. The 3 mount system seems a little weird to me wondering at least have 4 mounts. Ive had it welded 3 times, one from a rad shop. The worst job yet. And the other 2 done by a machinist and broke. Idiots. Anyway Im wondering what other people have done to to avoid this problem. I am thinking of mounting it to the fork tubes somehow. Also are the mounts the same on the rads. I always thoight they were but now Im second guessing my self.

Try spacing the radiator a little farther ahead be putting washers on the back side before you bolt it down. Are your rubber grommets in good shape? I could see a problem occuring from bad vibration if they were in poor shape. I tried this on mine, and havnt had a problem since. Mine was also repaired, but from a crash. Good luck!

Mine have been rewelded too. The top mount and the left hand bottom mount.

Well the gromets have long been gone. Due to the previous welder welded the mount too far backwards. Pushing the top part of the rad forward.I have identical ones that I could use but the rad is way out of wack.I had to cut out the "new" mount just to make the rad sit some what normal. I cant get a clear shot of how the rad is actually angled. Im thinking it would be level with the fork tubes. I also have a mock up Vented number plate made out of a childs Kitchen set. It is the over hang over the oven. And yes it almost matches the kawi green good. But god its way to big. Ive even thought of building new head light(s) mounts into the number plate and also mounting the rad to the number plate. So if someone can get a side close up shot of how there rad is mounted that would be great. So hopefully you guys dont look at this like :wondering

Here you go.. It sits somewhat forward at the top so you can get the cap off without unbolting the top mount.

I paid 100$ the first time to get it fixed and never made in 1 kilometer without getting a leak almost in my face from it. I got it geared up now. Might just get another rad rather then mess with this one anymore.
