has any one mounted a winch on a big red, im looking to use it for plowing and just in case something happend on the trail. any imput would be great.

I know a guy with a 1/4 inch steel plate welded over the front rack with holes in it for mounting the winch. Works pretty good IMO, but I think too much strain on the front rack could bend/twist something. If it were me I would find a spot to put it on the rear rack

I have a 2000lb on my 86 Red. Mounted on the front rack. I used it with the plow until I got a quad and it workrd great. I have used it to haul myself out of the mud but be careful unless you boost up the rack a bit.

Got one on mine... No problem to date... 2000lb superwinch, just made a bolt on plate to the stock rack tabs... Havent gotten real hard on it, but it doesnt flex under the weight of the blade and the snow...
