Hello Everyone! GREAT SITE!!!!

I have an 1985 Honda Big Red 250ES. It's been in the family since new, and always had issues starting when it's cold (around the freezing mark). I have researched the problem and i now know it's due to the size of the jet. You can purchase the cold start kit, however every dealer i've contacted laughed, as the part was discontinued. Other gents have suggested buying a carb from an 86 or 87 as the problem was fixed, however i'm looking near $200 to replace. I have come across a couple carb kits for 86-87 trx250, and i'm curious if the carb kit would have the replacement jet that i would need to fix my 85? Do most of the carb kits have the jet that would be my problem? Any help would be great, as i plan on keeping her for a long time!
By the way, the machine is used primarily for ice fishing in Ontario.....and no one wants to be stranded on the ice when the wind kicks up and temps plummit!

ya, the cold start problem sucks. Once it fires and is warm, ive never had a problem though. I try to warm it up at home before i load up. No idea about the cold start kit. occasionally you will see one on ebay. If its just the matter of changing a jet, i would like to no also.
