my buddy rick and i took out 200x's out onto the ice today, studded up and ready to rip!!! ice condition sucked!! lake was frozen 7-8 inches BUT it frose, thawed some than frose again so most of it is real rough and choppy, the channels/ rivers are smooth, except a few spots that have water/ slush on top of the ice,

seen about 10 utility quads out, a banshee with fmf silencer with no end caps on them whippin on a mid 90s artic cat sled ( funny seein a sled fightin to keep up with a quad) and herd what sounded like ether a big bore 250r or lt250r rippin down a channel, seen a bunch of sleds and a few trucks out on the ice.

after a few passes across the lake and down the rivers as far as we could we made our way over to a gas station to get some gas in my machine. i get to the top of 5th and look back and my buddy is standing next to his machine about a half mile back, so i spin around and head back over..

turns out it got loose on some smooth ice and he high sided and flipped it 3 times, busted his rear fenders up, busted his exhaust, and landed HARD on his right shoulder/ arm he rode 1st gear about 2 miles back to the truck,

he just text me from the hospital, he ripped/ tore the muscle in his arm/ shoulder that moves your arm up and down, thats all i know so far waiting for him to text back on if he has to get surgery or not.... and he also said $200 takes it sooo i think he is gonna sell his 200x now.. i hope he dont have to have surgery if he does that will knock him out of work for a while, and prob riding for the winter! :(

so if he sells it for $200 im gonna pick it up for the wife, sucks its gotta be like this but its got $800 in new parts, all it needs is the exhaust fixed and now plastics.

i got apicture of one of the bridges we go under that ill post up shortly

ok here are the two pictures i took...

this is right next to the johnson street bridge.. sleds were crossing this.. its water on top of the ice, just on the left side of the picture is where the water discharge is not quite cold enough for the water to freese fast enough

now this picture is standing in the SAME spot as the first picture but looking the other way down the river... nice and smooth and no water!

hahahaha... like i said he been talkin about sellin it for a few weeks anyways,

just got off the phone with him, he tore his clavical ( sp?) the muscle that runs from neck to shoulder/ arm he is in a neck brace and has to go back and see a specialist? in 2 weeks, cant drive his truck( stick) so i offerd him my car tell he goes to the dr and knows for sure whats what, and ill drive his truck. ..

i did tell him to think it over about sellin his 200x and if he dicided thats what he needs to do let me know and ill buy it from him.... and sell it back to him for what i pay for it plus ill put new fenders on it since front and rear got busted bad in the crash, and the exhaust broke.

I had a bad day of riding too  was drifting on the snow covered road and went for a 360, when I was at mid-spin I hit dry pave and flipped on my side. Only hurt my leg though. Hope your friend heals well!

lol i did that on ice last weekend.. ended up backwards and got traction and went for aride across the ice on my back lol!!!

i think besides the torn clavical it hurt his pride more than anything, he isnt the best of riders and he trys to keep up with me, granted im not a pro rider but i can handle my own very well) he sees me hang it sideways on dirt and snow/ ice and he trys to do it, he forgets mines lowered and wider, and i get my weight lower..

he trys though, sucks cos he been looking forward to riding a few times a week with me and now he cant.. i thinks he is pretty bummed about that....

knowin him he wil be out on his snow mobile in a week... smoother ride

While it's true that crashing is part of the game, the injuries sustained during "some" of them really gets depressing. Extended heal up time gets tough to handle when work is missed. I was laid up for 8 weeks back in 96 due to a violent motocross crash that tore up my shoulder, and left me with a much smaller bank account. But, i still ride cause i love it.

my buddy wrecked on my tecate about five years ago.. "dislocated" his shoulder.... well it bothered him every since and just last week he went in for surgery and had screws and all kinds of nastiness done... a simple crash can end a guys riding/working career very quickly. Was your friend an experienced rider? Considering your friend may not be able to ride for quite some time i thinks its good of you to buy it from him to help him out.. but just make sure you pay him what its worth..

he has been riding for years.. mostly snowmobiles, and bikes.. both street and dirt.. not a racer though, and he usedto ride a 200m? back in the 90s.. sucks he will miss work he has been at the company he works for for 5 years.. and works in the warehouse unloading trucks and spiltting up the loads for diff vendors.

his 200x is rough yet, its the one he got from yamahaman89 on here,

needed swing arm berings, turned out to need a new axle and swing arm, due to the balls rolling around for so long, so he put them on, 400ex rear tires and rims, carb gasket, made a grab bar, new front tire, new chain, bought new front and rear pads, rear master, front caliper, air box,. and clutch cable. and i gave him the front master off my dirt bike..

needs front and rear fenders, seat, grips, brakes put on and get them working, new exhaust or repair the one on it, she is rough but runs out good,

so it needs alot of work but also has alot of new stuff on it...

a guy we know was trying to get it from him today.. but was like oh il give you my truck for it if you put new seat and fenders on it and get all the brakes on it...

its now in my possesion, he said he wil be fine this winter with just his snomobile, if he dont need surgery... so i took owner ship of it about a hour ago..

she took a beating in the crash.. flipped 3 times, rear fenders are destroyed, front is cracked in a few spots, seat has allways been trashed.

i figure for $200 or less i should have it back in shape.. gonna get the brakes working and the wife will be riding it, than well start replacing stuff as funds alow
