I think a rebuild for this motor is long overdue. burns oil, valve seals are shot, gaskets are shot. So im guessing my xmas present this year will be enough money to do this  On this one, i dont want to paint it, I want the original color. Can I just wire wheel it and call it a day? or will it rust? or is there a special type of paint for that color? thanks for any feedback guys.

Well it is paint. Also the case is Aluminum, so it won't rust. You can polish it, but thats expensive and you need to know how to do it. I got a couple things polished on my 250SX, and they look like chrome. I would paint it.

i would soda blast it, then then assemble it and when done, paint it with hi alloy paint. the paint that costs liek $15-$20 a can but has such high content of alloy it will not affect cooling. (That is if you need it, after blasting it it may not need painting.

cyclinder probebly not, but again soda bast and paint if needed. it's alloy color, so nothing special.

if you go to sherman williams they may be able to help you locate a hi temp silver/dolphin color that will look more original than just shiny alloy. the head and cyclinder were shiny alloy when new.

Don't go to a Sherwin Williams.. We do not carry any high Temp Coatings unless you go to our Commercial Store or Automotive store..

go with a black paint, and prep it well.black runs cooler.
