Do you HAVE to take the rims apart to get the tires off? or do they pop off like a regular tire? First time ive had to put new tires on the 70 and ive never delt with 2pc wheels before.
If anyone knows of a way to do without taking the wheels apart let me know as id much rather do it that way.

Their 2 piece rims so the rims have to be seperated to remove the tires .

Well the rings are mostly likely going to be the origianls since the tires are. Hopefully theyre not bad.

Just make sure you center them and if they get a slow leak just green slime them that stuff works great .

I use RTV silicone, has worked great for me for years!
But yes, just split the rim, it is alot less intimidating than you may think, IMO, they are the best!

^ Unless the tire in "rusted" to the rim. If the tire was on the rim for that long, theres a good chance its going to be a real pain to get off. The only other good option would be a bead breaker, at a local cycle shop, or even automotive shop. I have a manual bead breaker, and sometimes it works, and sometimes you just need the oomph of a pneumatic machine. Good luck, and hopefully the rims just pull right out, as they were designed to 20+ years ago!

Nope, sandwhich the tire between then bolt it back together.

I usually stand the tire up, put the 2 rims halves together and put air to it, it seems to work great for me. BTW I used a manual bead breaker on my atc 110 tires and it worked great.

I just took original tires off my new 70, pretty easy, but I had acsess to a wide vice, just closed the vice on three spots after lubing with some silicone spray popped it right off, took the rim apart and it was done. my original o- rings are fine. waiting for new oem skins now and then I will attempt the remount.

I just cleaned up the beads on all 3 of my 200's original tires. The rust was baaadd. I just split the rim, scrape all the rust off the oring, wire wheel the bead and oring surfaces, clean the tire up good, then put silicone all around. It's holding so far. The rear tires were almost impossible to break the bead on, so I let out most of the air, put them back on the wheeler, then went and burnt out in the snow. Broke them real fast. For the front, I just beat the crap out of it with a tire iron. I'm not a very good aim though, so it took over 50 beats per side.
