Ok I pulled the old KLT 110 racer out from the back of the pile and took a few pictures . I bought a NOS tank for this a couple years ago because the one that came with it is very beat up and rusty . Wish I could find a real nice factory black one . Check out all the old skool decals . I plan on freshing this up just a litttle but dont want to do to much . :beer

Its a 1984 KLT110 . The motor is all powroll , high compression piston , race cam , powroll custom 5mm stroker , MAM ported head , HD valve springs . Mikuni VM24mm carb and race intake manifold , Bassani exhaust , aftermarket front suspension kit . alum wheels all around with axle extenders on the back . I havnt started it sence I got it but I remember riding it back in the day and it was much faster than the honda atc 110 of equal cc size .

For those of you that dont know , this was a close freinds bike that raced it back in the day , when he lost his storage a few years back I got it from him .

I think the front suspension kit was made by Big AL's :wondering

Wow that thing is cool. I wasn't really ever into to atv racing, and i was born during the prime of the 3 wheeler but would this have been a 'youth' racer? Like something that one of the factory T3 racers would let their 12-15year old race?

It's very cool to see all of these custom/one off aftermarket parts and kits popping up. Thanks for sharing the pics, and a little history, TC...

Do you need Red front and rear fenders? I have klt fender in red and the vented and unvented front fenders in red also. I think the rear fenders are technically for the 85-86 since it has the little trunk lid, but I have them if you need them. The rear fenders have shelf scuffing of course and they probably spent an hour on a running klt110, but someone wanted the trike with the 84 fenders and striped seat, so I still have these fenders left. I think there are pictures on here somewhere of them, but I can repost or get new pics. I have some of the fender flaps and hardware and the trunk lid also. That is if you need them.

Well, believe it or not there were some parts that were sort of shared by the honda and the kawasaki. But pretty much the big places would modify what you sent them, to make a buck anyways. The kawis weren't very popular, but those that liked them were fanatical about them. The frame on the klt was way better than the stamped steel honda frame by far. They really were quite a sturdy trike, but they seem plagued by shifter problems. Seems the shift shaft would strip pretty easily on them. Many shifters were welded. The only real exhaust I ever knew for them was the Bassani and they had the sportier or race exhaust and they had the utility exhaust which my old klt had. CMP made some neat accessories too, I had the combo brush bar/skid plate and it made it a really nice and secure little ride.

Here are front and rear fender pics as requested. The rear fenders are technically 85/86 but fit the 84 frames just fine. Also the front fenders, solid is the 84 front fender and the louvered fender is the 85/86 or at least the louvered fender is for the stock kawasaki suspension forks. I can't remember if the 85 had the hard forks or the suspension forks. The rear fenders spent a little time on a running 84 klt110 and have some scuffing, but nothing serious or deep. Also the tool box lid and all but the latching rubber for the toolbox are on the fenders. There is 1 front fender tip and 5 or 6 mudflap retaining clips in the other picture and they are inside the toolbox so they don't get all seperated. I though I had more klt 110 mudflaps, but those were the NOS yt175 mudflaps, sorry about that mix-up. What do you think?

Thanks for the pics Vealmonkey . Their defiantly a little different than the ones on the klt now but I think it will give it a fresh look and can save the originals so they never get torn up . I think we can come up with some kind of deal for all of it if you want . Not sure when or if the fancy recoil cover will even happen but if my friend Gary does have one you will get it , he hasn't contacted me and I sent him 2 emails in the last month but I know he's a very busy guy . Can either do $ or a different trade if you want .

I'm finally getting around to this old 1980s racer . I'm only going to do a little restoration on this because I want to keep it as original as possible . I'm replacing the wiring harness because it's brittle and has a few bad spots and also the upper fork tubes which are pretty rusty . I tore it down just to clean it up and start fresh .

I got alot done on the little KLT110 racer today . Replaced and rebuilt the rusty fork tubes , installed the motor , new harness with great spark now . I've been holding on to this NOS black number plate for this build for a long time and its finally installed :w00t: . Cleaned up the old school Big Al's grips . Ordered a new chain , rear brake shoes and a petcock kit .

Damn those grips are sweet. I don't remember seeing those ends like that though. Did you have those custom made? I would dig a custom set of those for my dune buggy mag wheel center caps if you could get whatever you wanted on those end pieces. I been on 12 hour shifts for the last 2 weeks. I really need to get those fenders sent out. I'm so terrible.

Hey thats awesome! You really need to get a video of that thing running i would love to hear it. Whats the story on those rear tires that are on it? When i bought my old school 350x racer it came with those tires, number plates and H-tracs. I didnt think anything of it until recently. Are they rare?

Back in the day their wernt alot of choices for tires . These Armstrong S tread tires were decent for south florida mx dirt and easy to handle with a young rider . The chevron pattern tires were the choice for flat track . I'll have to get a youtube accout going to get sound for ya . This def sounds much different from a Honda LOL .

I went threw the motor checked and replaced everything that needed replacing . The trike needed a new harness as it was having electrical problems and when I tore it apart I found 2 wires that were tied to the frame to tight and were shorting out to the frame so electric problem is fixed with a new harness . This thing was very dirty and had sand / mud in every crevous so lots of cleaning . parts I picked up are new cables , brake shoes , petcock kit , new fuel tank , HD chain , front sprocket , front fork tubes , # plate , lots of hardware bolts exc were rusty and incorrect replaced . Sometimes its just best to strip them down and start fresh so I know it will be reliable but I don't want to polish it up to much , want it to show its age and originality as an original racer because I have seen this trike back when it was new and raced many a race against it .

Got the KLT110 up and running today :w00t:, What a little beast it is , very torky for its size . Doesnt like to idle very well but I think between the big powroll cam and the port job it probably wont every idle all that great :D. Having some clutch issues also so will be pulling the side cover off to see whats happening their .

Finally finished up the old racer KLT today . The clutch on this really gave me a hard time and the final problem was a froze up clutch bushing which for some reason I kept over looking  . New paint on the tank and NOS original decals for a fresh look . I really didnt remember this old racer being as fast as it really is and would give a stock 200x a run for its money LOL . I put alot of hours and a couple years of looking for a few hard to find parts but I think it all pays off seeing it done :w00t: .

Intake manifold isnt any longer than the stock set up its just designed for a large 24mm mikuni instead of the stock 18mm .
