A new 330 esr kit has just been installed and just when i thought it was ready for the dunes, it wasnt. For whatever reason it wont rev past half throttle. Pulls hard up to half throttle then feels like its hitting the rev limiter. Jetting is fine, i thought that was it at first. The ground on the bike is fine. Someone had told me the cdi box may be going out. Any input on what this might be or if it could be the cdi may be going out. Any input is appreciated.

CDI or stator.

Stator is fairly new in the bike, I guess that narrows down to the cdi, ill work on replacing that and see what the outcome is.

did you use the same carb as the 250?same jets?sounds like it is starving out.needs more air and fuel than stock.

nah, im on a 39 pwk, i dont think its starving. But no i havnt checked the cdi. Might just go around that and put on a friends cdi to check.

Could the stator cause this problem? in the process of the kit i went from my stock intake boot with boysen reeds to a boysen rad valve with power reeds, could this change anything?

My main jetting hasn't changed that much from when I had a mild 250 to a built 270 to an ESR330. I had a 39PWK on the first two set ups and a 40.5mm on my 330 and I've always been around a 190-200 main jet.

If anyone was wondering, just got the bike up and running right now. Was running 110 octane, changed to 100 octane and change the needle to the right one, fine tuned it and BAM shes rippin up and down the streets. Ended up at a 185 main and will go 190 for the dunes. Simple thing as gas made the bike run like turd.
