It always cracks me up when around this time of the year all you northeastern people start talking about your "winter projects". Does that mean all you guys are hunkered down in your basements and garages with wood burning stoves and iceicles hanging from the eves? Lol. That actully sounds kind of nice to me. I can picture myself in my garage with snow falling outside and sipping hot coco while working on my trike and watching the games. To be honest, I am sooo sick and tired of Sunny and 72 degrees here in San Diego. This place is a meteoroligical dead zone!!

Bill
11-24-2009, 04:01 AM
LOL that must be horrible!!

11-24-2009, 04:10 AM
Well thats better than Rain! Thats all we get here is rain, I would much rather have snow or sun over rain. Stupid people around here live in the stuff all the time and cant even drive in it. Pisses me off

What's wrong with the kick starter ?

lawrence35
01-12-2010, 05:01 PM
what size/brand is that front tire/rim.looks agressive , not like a front max

Bill
01-12-2010, 07:40 PM
I fixed the kick starter by useing a file on the gear. and I also had to make a shim to get it working. It had been slipping because teeth were wore over on the gear but it works great now.

Bill
01-12-2010, 07:41 PM
I will get you the tire size and brand but it is the stock rim.

Bill
01-12-2010, 09:05 PM
front tire is a carlisle at489 23*8*11

Bill
01-13-2010, 12:03 AM

Bill
01-13-2010, 12:23 AM

My winter project is to stud the tires and get on the ice and ride. The rest of the year it sits, just the opposite of what your talking about.

Bill
01-15-2010, 12:08 AM
I had always wanted a fmf its the only exhaust I could find that I knew a little about. On all my bikes I always ran pro circuit but I could not find one for this. Also what is the recall on the kick starter I had just figured it was wore from age or maybe someone kicked it down when it was running. Let me know.

Bill
01-15-2010, 04:03 AM
I like to ride anytime but were I live there are alot of stripmines and tracks i like to ride and they are alot more fun in the summer months!

Back in the day I had a new 85 250R that started to skip when you kicked it and that was only 2-3 weeks after I bought it. So it wasn't from wear. I still have the original gear from the recall hanging in my garage and it looks new.

My old 85 250R with low hours on it did the same thing.

Looks awesome Bill. I also run the opposite schedule of you. My R gets ridden in the winter then put away for the summer unless we make the trip to Silver Lake, MI. I should have given it some much needed attention in the summer and fall so it would be ready for the ice, but as usual I ended up working like a maniac for 3 weeks after Christmas to get it back up to snuff. Now the ice is a slushy, sloppy mess and my nice fresh R is in the shed. :(
