So after a rock hit the bottom of my engine on my 85 110 and took out a huge chunk were the drain plug is :( , time to replace the engine. I got a 78 90cc motor complete. I am looking to swap it in. Motor for motor. Question I have is, can I swap my CDi from my 110 to the points 90 motor? It seams straight forward because I have all the parts but wanted some advise from the experts.

Thanks guys.

I would like to know about this too. I have a points 110 that I can't get spark on. These points, contact breaker, condenser things have me confused lol. It would be so much easier if it was cdi.

Not sure if I'm correct or wrong, but I see a cam for these engine on ebay and they specified that it fit only on point model.....so maybe de point and cdi model have a different cam?

I looked into this recently, the only info I could find was this quote from the forum:

You cannot swap the electrics. The crank end is completely different.

You can't combine both electrics but they did make a conversion kit for the points models. It took the points style motors and converted them into CDI, which would then be ready to bolt into a CDI sytle trike. I saw a kit on ebay a few months ago but are very rare. If you see one, jump on it quick.
