one way took look at it is, get a car drive 72mph down the freeway and stick your head out the window and think does my 350x go this fast?

all i could sqeeze out of my 350x was right at 60mph. give or take a mph or two,,,,
i wanted to see what that factory speedo would tell me and that was what it said. felt like i was going faster. i think my sprockets are all stock,,,
gotta admit,,, it got to speed rather quickly.

well, your wrong and here is why,
Dirt wheels clocked it at just over 70mph in there test of the 85 in there May 1985 issue.
sidewinder sprockets have a formula to determine a machines top speed buy useing such things as internal gear ratio, final drive ratio, h.p. at shaft, overall weight, tire size, ect. when I did the formula it came out at 72.2 mph
the day i bought my 350X i was clocked by my friend on his new XL 600
i have out run SEVERALL poilce officers on my 350X's and been clocked at over 70 mph
and finally i have a Hondaline speedometer specifically for a 350X on my 85 and it pegged the needle at the 70mph mark which is the limit on the speedo.
now do 18 year old 350X's do 72 mph??? that depends on there condition.
P.S. your car test i did that. i remember about a month after i bought my 85 brand new i was racing cars down the side of the highway tapped out in 6th gear passing cars doing at least the 65mph speed limit.
