I picked up a very nice '83 Big Red this weekend, and I've been exceedingly happy with it aside from the very stiff forks on the front.

Now that I've had a chance to look into the suspension, I see that the 200e has some of the worst that Honda ever made....boy can I pick them!

Are there ANY options out there for revamping the suspension on my trike other than forking (no pun intended) over $400+ for new parts that I can get on various sites?

Thanks,
Joe

You could swap out the whole thing with shocks from an 84 200m they are a much better system. As far as I understand you have to change the whole front tree. I have read about other people doing that instead of rebuilding the old ones because it is so expensive.

I have read on here that the fork assembly from a 200m just doesn't fit because of a bad angle or something like that.

when i got mine, the front forks were chuck full of mud, and almost rigid!! I cleaned every thing on a wire wheel. the springs and dampers naturally had some pitting, but the springs still measured within service limit, and were fine, the dampers did not leak, and operated correctly, so aside from some boots, and a washer or two. I just greased the crap out of every thing put it back together with new boots, and they work as good as the design allows!
