What do you guys prefer plastic or metal tanks? I bought a bigred and the metal tank leaks like the titanic. Should i repair it or go with a plastic tank? I like the look of a stock bike, does anyone have pictures of bigreds with plastic tanks?

I just ordered a plastic tank for my 350x. Ill be able to ride the bike alot more comfortable now not having to worry about denting the original tank. Even tho it already has a big dent caused by my 6'5 cousin.

Stock metal tanks in my opinion look nicer but the plastic ones are better on you knees and no worries about rust or dents .

The metal ones are soooo nice, but if you ride often (as I do) you are far better off saving the metal one for when your older (if your as big an enthusiast as some of us are :beer) and grab a plastic one for now.
The Clarke white tanks DO yellow in a couple years. And the dam red doesn't match anything else from Honda or MAIER, thats the crappy part about tanks :(
My 350X IMS tank has not yellowed and it's about 5 years of run time on there now :D

i like the steel tanks for looks, but you cant argue with the durablity of the plastic tanks.i agree with above, use the plastic and out the steel one on later, when your going to mellow out.

For the 250es the plastic tanks look the same as stock. Im pretty sure clarke will only have red in stock anything else will be a special order and will cost you alot more.

OK i decided to go with a plastic tank. Clarke makes one for $209 plus shipping and then I found some other after market tanks on ebay for just over $100 plus shipping. Is the Clarke a waste of money or that much better that the other tanks?

209 is alittle steep, You should be able to find a clarke cheaper than that. Not sure on the cheaper plastic tanks. Most on here run either the clarke, or the pricier IMS.

i bought the clarke on ebay for $189 with shipping included. Now i have to figure out a way for the tank decal to stick on longer than a week.......
