Hey all, just picked up an 85 250r a couple weeks ago and decided I needed to find a forum that could inform me a little better on the wonderful world of 3-wheelers, found this place and have learned alot already from all the awesome post's on here. The one thing I haven't been able to figure out yet (even with the search option) is what other hubs from Honda's will bolt right on to the stock axle of my machine? I found a few posts where the 400ex hubs were thought to fit but others said that was actually false. What I want to do is find some hubs of some sort that will widen my stance a little without the use of spacers, so are there hubs out there that I can accomplish this with?

Once again, wicked site and thanks for any imput:Bounce

nothing for a 85/86 250r. Only spacers and extended axle. The other option would be a 400ex extended axle and hubs, but thats kinda the same as a axle for the 250r. What about deeper offset rims? That might be cheapest way.

Polaris Outlaw IRS rims are 4-110 bolt pattern and offset almost to the outside of the rim to get good CV angles. Flip those around backwards and you have a wicked offset.

Yeah I hadn't thought about offset rims, guess that will have to do if no other Honda hubs fit these axles. Thanks guys!

nice! yea the 85-86 250R and up are 25 splinned axles, where is nearly every other honda made is 24 splined, I think but dont quote me g-force makes extended hubs for that spline, those coupled with some higher offset wheels will widen it up greatly, dont make it too wide otherwise you might get stuck in a tight trail with it!

Looks good to me. Bet it cleans up decent.

Well after cleaning it I was reminded why I should never look at something in the dark and covered in dirt, there's alot of rust in certain areas and I've already snapped off a few bolts in the frame that were seized in tight. But I don't regret the purchase though, I've always wanted one of these 250r's.......just can't wait to ride it!

FWIW 350x hubs will fit but gain you no width.

Good to know.......I wonder why Honda did the 25 splines on those years only.
