I am almost done with this rebuild. One of the few things left is to finish my baja light for the front and put the mudflaps on the back.

Does the box still have the "Inflateable sheep" stickers all over it?
Thanks Dirtface. It took me about 2 1/2 months but it was worth it.

Is that a plastic tank or did you resurrect that metal one?

That's the original metal tank from the before picture. It had a few small dents in it that I pulled, a few pin holes in the bottom that I brazed up then did the inside of the tank with a cycle tank sealer kit from KBS coatings. The white paint is from a company called Klass Kote, it is a 2 part epoxy paint that is gasoline, nitromethane, alcohol, pretty much whatever you pour on it proof. I was going to buy a plastic tank but decided against it because I wanted to run the decals and have them stay put.

I am fortunate enough to have a job that affords me a lot of free time to work on personal projects. Other than the initial disassembly, bead blasting, and the reassembly all the other aspects were done at my job including but not limited to: sandblasting, painting, fabbing stops for the 350x triples, mounting the tires etc etc...I am almost done fabbing up my baja light set, I built it entirely at work also with the exception of milling notches (done at home) in the tubing for proper fit up before I brazed it together.

wow, what a transformation. Looks awsome. what did you do to the tank before putting the flame to it to prevent a "boom". I have a few tanks I want to try this with.

The tank had been empty and dry for a while before I ever got around to working on it, it was actually the last major piece I worked on during the build. I did however rinse it out with ospho (phosphoric acid) and water before I brazed on it.
