The only thing i have heard is that the Hot Rods +4 crank was built with a fault (accidentally) and was letting go and causing damage.
I heard this from jadleybray. If you are going to go with a stroker crank, go spend the long dollar and get a reliable one.

(this could be fixed by now, but that is what i heard about a month ago)

Kintore. Quit messing around and get a big bore 310 or 330.
