can i just loosen the 8 clamp screws that hold the forks from sliding up or down to make it ride higher in the front?...looks to me that i have like a 1-1/4 inch of forks that go past the tree on the top....so if i loosen the 8 screws....can i drop the front forks down like a inch (almost flush with tree`s)....im sure if this can be done that somebody on here has done it allready...just got my axle beat out today....after 3-days of lube, heat, lube, heat, lube, heat, bigger hammer it finaly came off.....so it was a good day.....didnt mess anything up besides the brake spindle and that looked tattered before i got my hands on it......so no big loss...want to thank everybody on here that helped me on that......was some awsome information....thx again....:beer

Yes you can do that...loosen the bolts and let the tubes slide down...re-tighten and your ready to go.
