I sent you a link, check your pm's. Make sure you have the carb settings right.
Are the jets new? I'd double check those, if they are not. Make sure you can see light through them.
Read this post too.

Hey man, welcome to the boards. But let me say, when you ask for suggestions and someone gives you one, don't just say by the way I just did that. It doesn't mean you did it right or that you did a thorough job. You have carb problems. No one on here knows what kind of job you did. Take it apart and do it again. Did you dip it in a 1 gallon can or "gunk" carb cleaner for a couple of hours after you took it apart? If you didn't and all you did was spray it out with a spray can of parts or carb cleaner, then you probably didn't clean it very well. Did you check your fuel petcock screen to see if it was all clogged up? Did you remove the carb internal fuel filter and clean that? Did you install a fuel filter between the tank and carb in case your tank is all rusty? Have you checked your gas cap to see if the vent is clogged? But I would still say the first thing you should check is your carb again. Like I said, welcome to the site and we all hope you have a great time here and you will meet new people that will be glad to help you...if you let them. Please don't give people a hard time here, they are only trying to help which is what you asked for. Please check your carb again very carefully and please let us know what you find out during you hunt for where your fuel went.

I meant no disrespect to you veteran trike posters by saying that i had already cleaned it. sorry if that was taken in some wrong way, but the reason that i sought help on this site was that i have done most of the obvious things that i can think of. so i was hoping that maybe by posting a question here i would get some suggestions that i may have overlooked. maybe a jet setting, a vacuum leak, something like that. That said, yes, i did a very good job cleaning the carb, i know that there is no use starting out a carb project if the carb isn't thoroughly cleaned. i had a small engine shop clean and rebuild it and was not satisfied with their work so i did it again myself a day later.
Mike, thank you for the link, should be helpful.

on the wheels and tires you can use 4x110 hubs and get rims that are 1 piece .... alot better ..... if you are good with the 1 piece any tire will do ... welcome to the site
