I have the chance to get the rear setup off a trx 450r. Is this an easy bolt-on swap or am I going to have to make some mods to my 86 250r frame?? also is the 450 longer than the stock pro-link? I've broke after market ext-swingarms so I'm really parcial to the PL it hasen't failed me but I'd like to get at least another extra inch or lenght. any suggestions???????

From what I understand, the 450r swingarm is 1" shorter than the stock 85-86 swingarm. There is a thread somewhere about the conversion, I'll see if i can dig it up.

The 04-05 trx is -1 compared to your stocker. 06 and up is the same length as the 250r.
Its an e-z swap, if memory serves me right, i used the 250r swinger steel bushing tubes in the front pivot, and the 450 dust caps (450 bushings were too wide)
It will jack your bike up about an inch or inchandahalf, so a durablue adjustable link will fix that.
Another thing is you have to make a new bushing for your link where it mounts to the swinger, the bolt that goes through the swinger on the 450 is smaller in dia than the 250.
All pretty self explanitory stuff, having acess to a lathe, or a friend with one will be needed tho.
heres a pic,

the donor is an 07.....I guess I'll look for an 04/05 or play on hell of a mischef night prank on my buddy with his 05. so do you like the set-up? I won't do it unless I can get the extra inch. AS my girlfreind just said "EVERY GUY WANTS AN EXTRA INCH" AHHHUUGGHH

well it looks like your going to have to go aftermarket. Billy on here is making custom ones to your specs, check the new product page, youll see it.

AH MAN DON'T BE MEAN. we all started somewhere. my sugestion is to get your shock rebuilt. now which OC are you from, east coast or west? If NY there's a guy in north jersey who's amazing at rebuilds to your specs. I'll get the name and email for you. As for my swing arm problem I'm talking to a freind who's gonna CAD it up and cut it out of a block. He says he can do it so we'll see.
