i was riding my 200es yesterday when the cable broke inside the thumb throttle. i was wondering if any other cables will work, or if i need to just find the right one on ebay. also, is there a way to repair the broken one?

I don't think you would be able to repair it, and if you were somehow able to, it would just break again. Make a post in the classifieds. I bet somebody can hook you up for cheap.

Actually you might want to take apart the thumb throttle. It might have just come undone inside of there. Worth a shot and you have to take it apart anyway.

thanks rob. when it broke, out in the dunes, my first thought was that there was a chance it just came undone. i had a screwdriver in the trunk so i checked and its def a broken/frayed cable. and i didnt think its repairable but you never know what tricks others know about. i'll post in the classifieds, but if anyone knows another cable that is compatible, please let me know.

why do you need a universal one? You can still find those cables by the handful....

If you want new I bet denniskirk.com has them, or you could get it from the dealer for around $20 or so. Looks like Honda part number 17910-VM3-000
is what you need.
