1985 honda 250sx rear end issue

i have just aquired an 85 250sx with rear end issues. this one was from someones deer camp and looks as if it sat out all the time. runs likes a top, though. rear end slips always, totally trashed. what i am needing is most likely a rear diff or good quality parts to fix. service manual, rear brake cable and reverse cable as well as lh handlebar perch where these mount. are most oem parts still avail for this unit? hate to part out, got a good deal on it any parts and or info would be appreciated thanks.

Well you can either rebuild your rear end or just buy a good known one. They range from 50-150$ depending on where you get it from. I have replaced all the bearings in one of mine and you can get the bearing kits. However, if the splines are trashed on any one of those parts, you would have to replace them.

thanks for your help fellas, how are your t-3's treating you. i am new on here and it is neat to see guys that still have em. i have an 86 with about 30 hrs on it, runs and drives like new. if i was to sell, what would it be woth? it is missing lh chain guard and toolbox as well as flap that attached to the rear 2 holesin back fender. everything else is all original, 9 out of 10. thanks. fastest and scariest machine i have ever been on!

Well since the economy is jacked up, the T-3 prices have fallen some. In fact my buddy picked up a good runner for around 850$, but of course it needs plastics and such. But I figured around 1500-2500 is the price range depending on how it runs and looks and if its OEM or not. I know there is a dude on the boards looking for a nice one.

I have several 250ES and 250Sx differentals ... all were good when pulled ... I usually get $100.00 to $125.00 each for them ... plus shipping ... and $50.00 plus shipping for the axles ... I have 5 parts bikes .. 2 250sx's and 3 250es big reds ... no plastics tho ... only hard parts left ...
