Just picked up a totally mint 1982 250r. The only prob;em is the guy I got it from put another front end on it. He hacked and wacked the bearing chases in the stem. Chewed to hell in the top but fine in the bottom. I think the front end is off an 1985 250r. Anyone know of any fixes or had this prob before?

Any pics?? Has to be a way to grind it out carefully and get back to the correct front end, or make this one work properly.

Without seeing it, otherwise you may need a frame or at leasy a neck you can weld on if your good with some light fab work.....

I was thinking maybe I could grind out the chewed up races and find sealed bearings to fit inside. Obviously they would fit the stems id.

What do you think of that?

I'd like to see your totally mint 1982 250r also.

the sealed bearings could defenitely work, with a spacer in between them or whatever, something like that.. same principle, just makin it yourself, you should defenitely try to use the later 250R frontend on the 82 you have because of the obvious advantages haha, strange he was able to fit it on though
