so my 350 has been apart for close to 3 weeks, and I have everything now to put it together. Is there anything you guys use to clean the inside of the case with, I tried to keep it covered, but i'm sure some dust and dirt probably settled in there!! I know you want it clean as awhistle in there. should i just wipe it where i can, or is there a solvent that is safe to use? Also you would put a dab of oil on new oil seals before installing right? Sorry if these are silly ?'s. I ride hondas, and havent really ever had to take motors apart:lol:

Pre-oiling your seals is a pretty good idea too...

Dry it out good whatever ya use, gas can thin oil quite a bit.

ohh, I will be very very careful!!;) Only putting the stator cover on for now, the clutch cover was a spare, so I will wait to put it on until I have to get in there for something. Way to much to do this weekend, so i'm hoping a few late nights in the shed next week and she'll be back in business!!!!

If the motor is out I put the covers on after I install the engine. It makes it allot easier to drop in and won't scratch the frame or the motor.
Gas and an air nozzle will take care of any crap in there.
I always put a dab of grease on the seal lips. I rub grease all over some gaskets like the clutch/stator etc, and of course on my bolt threads so they don't seize up. It not only seems to help it seal but most times I can get the gasket off whole without it ripping (no scraping to do) and I can reuse it if I have to.........

i use brake cleaner or gas to clean almost any surface. both of them do great. and evaporate away quickly.

Yah, that gas evaporates quick. I went fishing all day with my buddy. I left my truck at home with a full tank of gas. The next day when I went to work I only had 1/2 a tank felt and the wife swears she didn't drive it, LOL
