Ok i tore my R apart to get the water pump rebuilt a while ago (april or may) and just put it all back together a couple minutes ago. Well almost, i have a bolt left over, its the exact same size and head as the 'oil check' bolt. It was with all of my other bolts so i'm 90% it came out of the R somewhere. Any help??? Thanks in advance, TC...

The cylinder has one on the side

The one on the non exhaust side near the bottom? I still have that one installed.
Maybe this is just a random bolt, i have no idea why but i was thinking maybe i took it out to release the pressure of the coolant system? Which then drained it out, but i can't figure out why there would be a bolt when you can just loosen the radiator cap...

There are only 3 of those kinda bolts on a 250r, one in the cyl, one for the oil check, and one for the water-pump drain. If you have all them in place, it must be a random spare that got thrown in.

Is the water pump drain different than the short bolt on the bottom of the small water pump cover? If not then where is it located?
Thanks a lot for your help Jeff, this is why you shouldn't take stuff apart and let it sit for 5 months...

I have no idea, anyway i filled it up with fluids and it fired right up. I'll have to take it out for a ride one of these days to make sure i'm not getting any water in the bottom end. The impeller was in bad shape and had a lot of visible wear so i'd say that since it was all replaced i should be good to go...

The drain is on the bottom of the water pump cover. If nothing is leaking, I say RUN IT!

Haha thats the plan, i had a little bit too much oil in it when i fired it up so after i let everything circulate for 20 or so seconds i drained the excess and it didn't look like there was any water in it. But it did have some air bubbles most likely because it was overfull. I will try and load it up in the next day or two and take it out for a spin where i can actually build some heat in the motor. As for that bolt, it will stay in the garage until i figure out where it came from...
