K, long story short, the rope broke. Taking out the pully, the spring uncoiled.. I dont have the patience to put this sucker back together so I just took it down to the local dealer. I'm missing the spring that goes from the Pull thingy to the pully to keep it back when the engine is running. The dealer apparently no longer has access to this dinky little spring, so does anyone have an idea as to where I can get one? Business, wreckers? I'm in Southern ontario.

I need #10 in the diagram. any ideas would be great. I've looked around the shop, I even looked under the bench where I took it apart in the first place. I dont remember the spring being in there in the first place but the dealer says I need it.

thanks

yes you need that spring check service honda or bike bandit for the piece. Should not cost that much for the spring.

p.s. the large main spring is a bitchh to wind up but after you have to do it a few times you get the hang of it

Have you tried a hardware store. My local ACE has drawers full of various springs, in the fastener section.

The one you have appears be #5 if this is your model. I searched 1983. It looks the same in the diagram but this one is also listed and can be order..... does anyone know if this one and mine are the same?

I was thinking of going to the hardware store... but I cant think of anywhere that sells assorted springs...

maybe it's easier if I ask, Does anyone Locally have a Full Pull start Assembly?
1983 YT175

I swapped the one off my 1980 YT125, they are the same... not sure what year and engine size these are switchable to and from though.

I'm in South West Ontario Canada.
