well few days ago i bought this bike 27 bucks what a deal right ahaha well any ways it was off timeing so i got that all fixed went fer a ride then she jumped her timeing agin and ground up a valve and put a hole in the piston. then my buddy said he had a 300 top end laying around piston and rings and all and i was wondering would this bolt onto my 250 base ?

300 top end from what? 300es 2 wheel drive, the whole motor will drop in....

well the top end is off a honda 300 fourtrax 4by4 i was wondering if that top end would bolt onto my 250 motor base .

thanks for the welcome man nope i didnt get ne pics of it before i took it all apart but i will try and get some shes not too bad its goin to be a project for me over the winter when i have time. its has a few welds on the back of the frame but nothing i cant clean up just wating on a motor now once i gets one the work will begin

Thanks for the welcome mike , mud bug i am 17. yea its all ways nice to see a few newfies on the forums :) . this is the 8th three wheeler i have owned but i plain on keeping this one for a long time and i have some plans for it once i get it up and running some of them plans are fix the frame where it needs to be welded sand it all down to bare metal and repaint it.

yeah man, good luck with your bike, I just bought a project one for 500, a bit more than yours haha. the engines good but the frame is junk so im doing an overhaul on er. i'm only 16 myself and I already have 3 big reds and still looking for more (dad loves em too) keep us postd on your bike progress. good luck!! :welcome:

yea thanks for the welcome. my big red is also a 85. yea only places mine needs to be welded is on back the pipe that the rack bolts onto and under one of the foot pegs the frame got a hole in it there im just wating on to see what i should do for a motor now and im goin to try and find a 250 piston and head (just the part with the valves in it ) the cylinder and cam and top cover are perfect.

Man throw up some pictures. You were telling me about it the other night on windows messenger. Theres a few motors on the classifieds cheap. (this is Mitchell by the way)

yea ill get some pics of it to day right now i am in the process of cleaning up the frame and geting it ready to be repainted so ill try and upload some pics to night

ok i got some pics last night now lets see if i can get them to work. today i was out at the bike for a bit i started on cleaning up the frame and painting the rims then i noticed this bike has a 250 fourtrax and rear end and swing arm in it lol well here are a few pics i got of it

I love seeing pics of progress. especially on big reds. just think when your building it, every bit of extra time you put in will all help.
