unfortunately - the Tri-Z power band will only fit in the Tri-Z engine.

Are your Power bands old? Maybe they just need replaced. Are they dry rotted?

Honestly I always try to run two powerbands...seems to help tote my big butt around.

Then when you stop you can pull one off and flick it at someone.

^ It's always you Goat!

You always go back on things you said before, I quote Goat: "If you put a 4 stroke powerband in place of a 2 stroke, you get smooth clean power and not that arm jerking 2 stroke power"

Thats what I did with my 250R and I'm so glad I did. It's been easier to ride and doesn't foul plugs ever anymore :beer

I'm sorry steve, I just have the worst memory sometimes, and don't remember what I've said.

You're right, a 4 stroke powerband in place of a 2stroke will help get a smoother power.

I personally like the 6 stroke engine design which alternates a nitrometh and gasoline.

i run a 4stroke powerband in place of a 2stroke & it works amazing...you should try it, also try a powerband adjuster so you can limit the powerband from mild to wild.

So can you help me with changing from a 2stroke power to the 4stroke power band ?
Thank you

There are a few people in this thread just messing with you Mucker.

The deal is, You bought a large CC 2 stroke.

If you dont like the power delivery, you may want to look for a 4 stroke powered machine like a 200x or 350x.

You other option is to get used to the Tri-Z power delivery, and it will grow on you.

There isn't really anything you can do to tame down the power of the Z 250 engine, short of adding a throttle stop.
You are going to have to learn to like it, or sell it for a model that more would fit your riding style.
There are no 4 stroke engines that will directly bolt into a Z chassis.
There is no way to "remove the powerband" from the Z engine.

Are there anyother bikes that i could get one off?

You could sell your Tri-Z and buy a 4-stroke trike. A 200x or 350x might be right up your alley.

lol...there is NO tangible object that is a POWERBAND...

I and the other 10 persons were just having a laugh.

Now that it's done, put some pics of the bike, we always like to see em.

Got any other questions that don't concern Powerbands...and someone will help you!

You can alter the Gearing, to change where your power comes in ...

Stock tri-z's have good low end power, So you might want to try changing your front Sprocket one tooth bigger.

Should help ...

Since you have a tri-z you can run a honda powerband because Yamaha made a few red tri-z's that means you can interchange with other makes of the same or near color... You wouldn't want to get a kawasaki powerband in that yammi though, color of the powerband is all different and cause the reactor cell to discombobulate and that would be like Chernobyl... AND NOBODY WANTS THAT!!!

Just to be clear for the new guy, the term powerband is used to describe the RPM range where your engine makes the most power. Like Goat said, it's not an actual part. 2-strokes typically have a very narrow "powerband" which is to say they make peak power in a smaller rpm range than a 4-stroke.

These guys are just having fun with it because it's a common mistake so don't take it personally. ;)

Mucker, feel free to e-mail me any Q's you may have, that way you can avoid ridicule. I was taught that there is no such thing as a dumb question. Its sad the peanut gallery is to cool to realize that once they needed help too.

Why do you guys want to drive off every new member that joins this board? I'm sure all your mothers are proud!

I bought the round tuit, muffler bearing, radiator insulator, wiper blade sharpener, and I got the wife a 710 cap.

These are things you just can't go to Wal-mart and buy, and I've never seen them on eBay either. I mean you hear people talking about them but nobody I know have any, I'll be the first one on the block! ! !
