My buddy just called me to let me know about a cheap 3 wheeler. details are sketchy but it is a 4 stroke semi automatic either 200 or 250 cc. The bike is apparently mint with one exception. When you put it into gear it acts like a clutch bike i.e, it stalls unless you give it some revs. It's hard to put into words but almost sounds like the centrefugal clutch plates are locked or something. I can pick it up for 150.00 cash. Anyone have any input as to what the problem might be?
Edit: The trike was working fine but sat in a garage for ~6 months without being started. The owner changed the oil 2 times thinking it would fix the problem but it didn't. He did use the proper oil in it as well...

I would say it's either sticking or adjusted too tight. I don't know about kawi's but on my Yamaha there is an increase/decrease adjustment for the clutch.

All I have ever had are Hondas and they adjust pretty much the same as your yamaha. I am trying to look at the parts diagrams as I type on bike bandit to see what i can figure out...

Should be the same on most all of them. If its been sitting for awhile, theres a very good chance its just sticky clutch plates. Most of the time when you ride it a bit, it will loosen back up and be just fine. Give it an oil change and maybe slip a little bit of sea foam in the oil to help clean things up a bit. Give it another oil change after a good ride.
