i am new to these bikes and i am wondering how much compression they should have. mine has about 74lbs......with compression checker. throtal wide open when i check it. any ideas??? wont start.....has spark {new plug}, cleaned carb, fresh gas {87 octane}.......but about 70 to 80 lbs compression roughfly. if anyone could help i would apreciate it.....thanks!!

I think the manual state you should have around 150 PSI of compressions. Check to see if the timing and the valve adjustment are within specs. Also put a little amount of motor oil in the cylinder and do a new compression test. If the compression is higher, you probably need a piston job.

thanks guys i will be locating a piston ring today.............i appreciate it......less work for me...i was trying all sorts of stuff...
