Well the Franks KTM 3 wheeler that everyone saw a few weeks back... showed up on Friday. It was one of a 3 trike deal, 2 Franks and a Honda 250R.
This Franks is a KTM 250 powered 3 wheeler. It's relatively 100% complete. It's been painted black (a bad job at that).
A few unique things about this one; (they'll need to be authenticated over time but having had a couple of them I'm pretty sure...)
It has KTM inverts on it modified by Franks for the 3 wheeler.
The triples are original and are Franks' work.
This one was a narrow front tire 3 wheeler (most all of the Franks machines were wide fronts).
More will come out as I have time to get into it....

Very cool, not something you see everyday. Looks like a honda 250r front tire-rim?

It looks like the 1979/80 KTM 420 motor, or it could be the 495, as most the air cooled motors were all the way up to 1984 era.

Was it originally, a blue frame with, I'm guessing, white plastics? Is there any pictures of it from back in the day when it was "new". Very cool trike, keep us updated on the restore.:w00t: Also what is the aluminum looking plate on the back of the swingarm with the holes in it?

IDT there is enough "meat" for it to be an 85/86R rim, the gold is throwing me off as sizewise it looks like a 200X rim? maybe it's an 83/84R front rim....
Those forks look BIG!
Regardless, that is one AWESOME trike Bigbore. Fits very well within your sweet collection. I love those simple frames with very little gusseting and solid pegs, It just screams OLD SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this stuff you guys find...
Can't wait to see it progress!!

what size motor is that?
I think it's just a 250 but I'll need to go over it better.
Nice to see you back. Hope your doing ok. :beer

It's a disk brake guard. Franks was way ahead of the trend back then. Bent disk... your done!

This is just an awesome score . Franks made some really good stuff and I do believe he put allot of thought and time in the trikes and parts he sold . It looks all original and old skool to me .

The KTM does run! Got it fired up this weekend. Had to push it though, It needs a kick starter. The other one I haven't checked it yet. Never enough hours in the day, plus my kids just finished up thier dirt track oval Mini Quad season last night.
Some photo's will get posted up soon.
