Hey all, got a couple of new seals for the 250R today, the shifter shaft seal and the kicker seal.. just a quick question, does anyone know the best process to replace these seals?

Use an awl to get a hole in them. Use a coarse wood screw and thread it in. Grab it and pry it out with vice grips etc, but don't nick the shaft and don't damage the case, put a rag folded up over it.
Then put a plastic baggie over the shaft, grease up the lip and either pop in the seal with strong fingers like I have :D or get it started and then drive it with a piece of pipe or something that is just under the OD of the seal.
Make sense??
Hope so..........
If you do it the other way (removing covers) now you need gaskets. Take your time, do it as above and enjoy the experience :)
