Changing my bearings and can't get the axle out. Took out the stop ring and both nuts and can't get the collar next to the hub to slide off the spline on the axle. Tried penetrating oil and heat. Really stuck on. Any ideas out there would be very helpfull. Thanks, John.

Hard wood preferably... I hate when you smack it with the sledge and your 4x2 breaks...

What KIND of heat?? Because if you can't get it cherry red, there is much less of a chance to get it out.......

^^^I second that, mapp and propane torches are never enough. Get it cherry red, and a block of wood, and a BFH, and go to town.

I actually had to cut mine of with a wheel grinder. My 86 200x was in superb shape otherwise. Even after cutting it in half in two places it still would come off. I literally had to chisel it off from at the point. It took me several nights to get it off.

I ended up using a 250r axle on my 200x after that.

HEAT HEAT HEAT!! OXY/ACET and HOT!! Banging on it cold will just bend the rotor and or rotor hub...........

Clean it spotless and put some waterprrof grease on there when you re-install.

Penetrating lubes are good for something, just not rusty parts :D Heat is your friend...................
