price is a bit steep to me and the tires look like traction is not at it's best. that's more of a feild grass tire in my opinion but really a dirt or trail rider.

I was also going to order a set, I am so glad I did not. The Honda dealer near me sells them over the counter+ keeps them in stock, so I was able to look them over. They look good but thats it. They are super stiff and hard and are very, very heavy and thick. They would work on a utility, but I personally would not buy them for any thing. Just my feeling on them. Some one else might like a big heavy stiff tire but not me.

I got a set of those Duro's Ill get pics later. They are just like the name they HOOK UP. They are a huge wide spaced lug. and they get major forward bite.

They have enough side bite to keep you from spinning out in a slide. The compound is softer than a hoeshot or Razr. They probably feel stiffer to you pipeline becaue the lugs are so much thicker than others.

Those are diffrant than the ones I looked at. The ebay link was not working right for me before I guess. The ones I looked at had a more blocky flat tread looked really neat with a thick lug but were very stiff sides and face. Rocky mountan has Kenda Dominators for less I think. I have a pair of RA shreders on my 200x and love them.

I've seen 2 guys run DURO's and they seem to hook up, slide fine and last FOREVER!! Thats on sand, mud, snow, clay - everything - I like em.

Mainly due the fact that there is quite a bit of surface area on those giant triangles.

But then again, you said that you hate Holeshots, but on my 350X with the HD's - I love them. And on the 200X with the XC's (less sidewall lugs) I love them too :D

but they weigh a ton right? one of my plans is to get hiper wheels and so I am looking for a good set of tires for that type of rim.

Maybe, and my Holeshot HD's aren't light at all.......

But, I've smashed them into sharp rocks and railroad tracks and never popped the sidewall. Thats my beef, cheap tires = cheap sidewall and useless tires............

To each there own. We ride in all kinds of terrain and I need a tough sidewall, I'll deal with a few extra pounds if they can handle the elements I ride in/on. I have honestly popped or had leaking sidewalls on at least 3 or 4 brand new tire/rim packages. I had tires leak at the bead or pop a sidewall 2X from RMATV. They do not last for me so weight is something I can tolerate if they stand up!

So far in the last 12 years or so:

The Holeshot HD's . XCR's and the Bandit XC's (now discontinued) have been very good to me. Even the old OHTSU's all hold up very well for some reason - Oh yeah, I forgot that they came on Honda's - that would be why :D

Turf Tamers, cheaper Holeshots and numerous other inexpensive tires have let me down everytime and I'm happy to spend more $$ than deal with tires that leave me stranded.

I am not getting cheepy turf tamers I ride rocky/silt..lol horrible mix. the holeshots are not that baad they do bug me when I go 3rd/4th gear pinned sideways and I feel like am going to flip over. ps I have never rolled a 3 wheeler through 5 years I have been riding them. o-well I guess I'll run the tracion less stock trx250r/400ex tires I have.

It sounds like you want a tire with less grip that can spin in 3rd/4th while pinned??

BUT, you won't get a strong sidewall or a long lasting tire if it's pinned sideways (which of course we ALL love to do :beer)

I'd look for smaller knobbies and or a 18 or 20" tire......

When I first got my X it had stock tires on it, and the front was pretty much done as far as tread goes, I got that Kenda front Max and couldn't be any more pleased with it.. Alot of us run them

I have every performance type tire made. The only ones i would buy again are Turf tamers. The only other ones i actually like are Razr's and the Duro's. IMO holeshots suck for the price. over priced and dont perform very well. The Kenda tires i dont care for too much eather.

here's what I just bought for my SX with 200X conversion, it mimic's the original 200X tire closely

http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/tpl/tire/atvtireproduct.jsp?skuId=&store=Main&catId=&productId=p54769&leafCatId=&mmyId=

Shop around I found it for around 35 bucks on Bikebandit, but had DK price match it, even with their 5 dollar charge, it stilll was cheaper than BB.
