This is the YZ80 trike I bought when I was in Iraq. The shipper brought it by the other day. This is a cool trike. It needs some love but over all I am happy with it. My son got right to work with his tools.

I plan to correct those problems.
did they cut the swinger and extend it with plate or was it broke and someone tried to repair it? I would someone to recreate another.

Deffinitely cool! Looks like some serious ground clearance under the frame.
The look on your boys face is enough to offset the cost of anything!

when money is coming in again I will look into gatting an all aluminum one biult. If I have a good welder by then I will biuld it myself.

I'm glad to see it made it home. It really is cool. I like all the rare trikes like yours.

The rear fenders make this look like a store bought conversion. But that swing arm looks shade tree.

The fenders are molded to match the seat, so I am certain this is a model specific conversion.

Louis that thing is bad ass...would love the opportunity to work on a swinger for the rear with you when you get ready. I just finished up making one for Josh on his 250r.

I am working a deal that will get me a brand new Millermatic 251 in the box. Unitl then I will not have the means to biuld one. Even then I will not have the money to buy the little stuff I need to get it up and running. Maybe we can make a trip out your way one weekend and desing one.

Here are some more. I am not happy with the swing arm.
I see that the swinger does have issues, but if I'm picturing it correct in my head how the swingarm actually came stock I think that the bolt-on swingarm I built for my CRF to MDR 70 conversion would almost bolt right on ,and it just so happen's I should have them in small production in a couple of months.

Mine will have to grow into it a bit. If I adjust the suspension a bit it fits my wife perfect.

If the bearing carrier housing or the front pivots or anything is salvageable can re-use those parts... otherwise just start from scratch.
LonesomeTriZ

I think starting from scratch would be best. This thing is pretty chopped up.

That thing is awesome! I vaguely remember seeing one similar to that in i believe 3@4 wheel action when i was younger, but i thought it was based off of a kx. I think i would cobble up some other fenders to fit it and put them in the attic for safe keeping. Nice score!

I am hoping they would be some what easy to repair becuase they are fiberglass. The triples and front fender are also pretty unique.

SWEET FIND!
Looks like the 'ol adage of "make it strong, 'cause you can't go wrong" was attempted to be applied to that swinger.
I'm surprised that that little 80 can hold a clutch inside her, seems like she would be smoking them with those meats on the back...

You are correct. I want him to master his Zinger a bit more before he steps up.
I wondering the same thing. Even thought the tires and rims are pretty light, it all still seems like a bit much.

Nice Score, I am glad to see you know have it in your hands.
Front triples look like an A+ set up. I can't wait to see this build.

You bought that from a good friend of mine. The guy he bought it from modified the swinger that way. The conversion kit came with no way to adjust the chain so he cut it and came up with that set up.
I have ridden with him in the dunes when his kids were on it and it would go any where. As far as a clutch problem it never had any but if you put an aggressive tire on it you might.
Post pics as you modify it my friend I am sure will like to see them .He had a hard time wanting to sell it.

Thank you for the history. I will be glad to share the progress. Did he install the kit or buy it already converted?
