Well there is a 250r for sale locally, guy says it ran fine the last time he rode it 2 years ago and it seems to be in pretty good shape but he said he put new brakes on the rear 2 years ago and after about 30 minutes the rear wheels would lock up? He'd put water on them and they'd be fine for another 30 minutes, he thinks they are just adjusted too tight what do you guys think?

It's an '84 and another thing I found out is it hasn't been registered since 1992! So if I want to get a green sticker to ride around here it'd be sooooooooooooooo much. My 200x was $159 to register and it was registered back in 2004.

just pull the caliper apart, get the piston out and pull the seal. Get a new seal or even an oring that is the correct size clean the piston really well make sure the bore of the caliper is really clean and throw it back together. It should work like new.

300 seems like a great deal for the 84 250r, I would jump on it! They are pretty fast, and needing minimal work is good. It is definatly not a back yard cruizer, so be planned to have somewhere to ride it where you can go fast. Eventually you will wish your 200x had a little more zip, and this 250R could be the answer! Heck, buy it, and make it look nice and work great, and you could make a lot more than you pay for it, probly double easy, or save it until you can get the cash for the registration, and ride it. Im glad I live in Minnesota. There are lots of ditches to ride, fields, and groves, forests, etc. And if the atv is 25 years or older (made in 84 or earlier,) you dont need any license plate, or registration of any sort! Good luck, and let us know what you do.

If you don't have a $300 250r in your back yard by Monday, delete you 3ww account.
