OK so i took the head of my 84 x, the piston has a 75 on the top, is it bored out 75 thousandths? and should the letter IN face the back of the motor?

does the xr200 have the same top end?

and does anybody have a good used aftermarket cam they want to sell?

thanks alot

The .75 means thats what it is bored to if all the work is ligit. The IN side of the piston goes on the intake side, your right, towards the back. The XR 200 top end will bolt on, and the XR cam has a little higher lift and will add a little more performance.

alright thanks, the in side of the piston was on the front side, could the valve have hit the piston and bent it because the rings look fine but it had no compression?

yes it probebly did. the vavle releives are different sizes and if not correct will bend valves unless your timing was so far it is stopped it.

with the head off dump some water in the intake and exhaust port and if water leaks around the valve its bent

^ i like to go a step further. I'll take the head off shine a flashlight around the valve seat area and look throuh the port for any light. if ytou see light it's bent or bad seating and needs machining.
