Well I am getting ready to start my 70 full suspension project for over winter.
Need some input on what I have so far planned
So far I have
Complete 1970 SL70 roller
Complete ATC 70
Engine I am planning to use is a Lifan 125cc.
Right now my plans are to use the sl70 frame and make a custom rear swing arm still trying to figure out how to calculate the shock angle for the most travel.
I plan on using 200x triple trees with the sl70 forks. I am not sure if I need 1st or 2nd gen triple trees.
I am concerned the Sl70 forks are a bit long.. May be taller then I really want the bike to be.. So I can considering ct70 forks and triple trees.. Making the bike much close to the stock atc70 height.
Any thoughs on this and which way I should go next.

I'm not sure if the sl70 forks will fit the 200x triple clamps. But I know certain size pit bike forks will work.I think they are the 33mm ones.Message Blue27 he knows what will fit the 200x triple clamps.

1st gen 200x are 33mm, SL,XL,XR 70 type forks are 27mm, you can make them fit with spacers. Some pitbike forks are 33 mm. Also I know of some extra A+ style triple trees that might be for sale. More on that to come! MEasure the length of the SL70 forks, I beleive (i will have to check) XR forks are around 27inches and that is what the A+ 70 use.

Just measured the forks on my couple of bikes
sl70 has 24" forks from the bolt from the wheel to the top of the triple trees.. only about 1" diameter but I already have an idea for spacers there.
The crf50 I have are right around 18" but are 1.25" inverted forks.. So they should work with the 200x triple trees.
What size front tire and wheel are you running? That may lower the gas tank height closer to what I want.

Be carefull. I thought the 200X Tripples would be ok till I got them together. The rake is WAY to far out and the ride is all wrong. I have put mine on hold till I find the right forks.

Can someone take some measurements on their suspension 70.
Need overall height of the triple trees to the ground .. also the ground clearance.. This may help me determine the estimated height I want.. Its hard to just the height with the photos as compared with a stock atc 70. Right now I set the my sl70 and atc70 together and theres a huge difference in height.

mine is in storage right now so i have no way to measure it,,, i am running a 19" front tire,, i also have about 6" of ground clearance... its setup lower for a reason,,, but its sprung stiff for a big guy too,,,

I told you to stop by the house and you can get all the measurements you want. Bring a rear fender and seat and tank and bolts and you can even sit on the beast to see how it feels and if you need to change it to your liking.

I should be getting to start on the project this weekend.. Still have to find time to meet up with Vealmonkey..
I have a few ideas for the forks for the front suspension.. But I am going to start with stripping the sl70 frame down and making a swing arm. Then I can go from there

I would be interested in the tripe trees if the price is not to bad,I have the same project started started but have been racing my mad 70s all summer and it has been on the back burner,I plan on cutting the neck of my frame to change the rakel

I have been extremely busy with a new job plus school... But I did get a set of Kenda pathfinders 18 x 9.50-8 on 8" wide steel wheels. 4x110 pattern so I think my 250x hubs may work and definitely make it wider.
I'm blown away by all this, just became member, thought me and my buddies were the only ones who had any interest in three wheelers. You guys are sickos, beautiful pieces you're building. DOWN WITH FOUR WHEELERS!!!!!
was wondering what kind of forks can i use to make it appear more race like and also how about the swingarm?thanks for any information....

blue27 has A+ triple copies for sale if you don't want to go through all the work and fabbing. There are also other plans in the works, but don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet.
