hey guys, just thought I would share this little 3 wheeled joy with you. It came to us as a kawi 110 rolling frame, got a yanmar L60 diesel engine shoehorned into it, had a turbo put on it, and it got rode, by me, for 2 solid seasons.

A place by me sells those same diesel engines, and I thought it would be cool to use one on something like a trike, go-cart, or something like that.

Straight up bad ass! How is it power-wise compared to a regular gas job?

the milage is unbeleivable, we have speed tests on it running 50mph on asphalt, it is a hoot to ride the smallish wheel base of the 110 wheeler makes it a squrly terror, throttle response is slightly delayed, playing with the clutch is kind of ongoing, I personally learned my love of three wheelers from this warped little beauty six years or so ago, after riding it for two seasons at Croom in Brooksville, FL, I bought my 200S, now I am reassembling the sad 250R basket case I bought 3 years ago (thread forthcoming).

Why is obvious. 'Cause itoculd be done , and someone(namely me) was crazy enough to ride it. The rest of my pack never got away from me, and I was riding with a blaster, a lacoda, and a banshee, and they never took it easy on me. It will damn near climb a tree, and once the turbo spools up you had better have a tight grip, the guy that built it and I had a drag race down one of the longer wider straights at Croom, he was riding the trike and I was on his lacoda, 'cause he wanted to trade for a minute, I grabbed 5th and that little diesel was still pulling past me, just before it spit him off and then he wanted the quad back, thankfully.

more videos on the way...gonna get some top speed runs, and see if we can get som vids of it getting dirty, too.

it is faster than you think, too. we have it clocked at 50mph and still pulling(we ran out of road).

glad you guys like it, I will go convince its builder/owner that we need to film some antics.

that is pretty cool. i bet with some tweaking to that thing and better flow of the exhaust and intake, it woudl have even more performance. If it has more performance than you can get the gearing changed and even get more grunt r top end!

can you run it on any kind of bio-fuel? maybe vegi oil?

murphysadvocate

probably could run it on bio but we have never tried, it get good enough mialage to not mind buying it actual diesel, we never carried extra with us. for a day of riding we filled it up at the shop before we left... it never got close to running out.

if anything it needs to be lower geared so the belt can do its thing all the way

hey plastic, you don't know the half, I flipped it over once, and being diesel it didn't stall out upside down, kinda blew the seals out of the turbo, spent the afternoon covering the girl following me thru the woods with oil being shot out of the exhaust pipe...

ps we replaced the turbo so it doesn't spray oil anymore, what you see in the video is a bike complety rebuilt after my two seasons of r and d riding
