here is what i found on craiglist and went and got this morning

1984 honda 200x that the guy had running yesterday and says the camshaft is bad

has a brand new Clarke plastic gas tank that he just bought and put on it $250, (thinking about selling and getting my money back out of this and getting a older decent shape one)

i didnt really need another project but i couldnt pass this up, has another frame, front tire/rim, and 3 bins of parts that i could easily build another motor with. Has 3 other cams that go with it and one is in great shape that I am gong to use I will be on here tryin to get this thing running, if the crank is bad what are signs and how much of a job is it to replace?

heres some pics I took of the x and my garage full of other rides, my dad is now complaining there is no room in the garage

you have to split the cases to replace the crank ... so its a job. Might be better to get another motor or have it done by some one with more experience un less you are comfortable doing it. I think if you had a manual and took your time it wouldn't be bad

I am back at college now for the week. I cant wait to get home thursday night and work on this thing. I hope I can get this running. If I do this is going to be a rider even tho I want to tear it down and do partial restore to riding condition. I am going to have to see how much it is going to be to get this running.

What are signs that the cam is bad? I kicked it over and sounds normal but doesnt fire. I didnt have time to mess with it long.

Cam is real easy to replace in a 200x .... I wondered why you thought the crank might be bad LOL
